Displaying futuristic, mind zinging designs and certainly not short on awards and honors and beyond the cutting edge by light years, we find the architectural design firm of Craig Hodgetts and HsinMing Fung, HplusF. Established in 1984 HplusF is best known for their groundbreaking 1992 library at UCLA and the reborn Hollywood Bowl. After seeing what these folks have done, even if far-fetched, what we're taking away is reinforcing what we already know . . . that if you can think it, you can do it. We're a little doubtful that we'll ever see one since all Hummers aren't exactly sitting in the scrap yard, but it does turn the light bulb on to a variety of knock-off possibilities. It's hard to tear oneself away from the plans of what they've created where all the comforts are covered along with clever use of all nooks and crannies. What we like even more is the eco-friendly mechanical systems relying on geothermal storage tanks, photo-voltaic cells, and soy insulation as well as 12 volt electrical systems, OEM refrigeration, heating, and media components.
