Carl G. Fisher was an Indiana promoter and entrepreneur who was responsible for much of the development of Miami Beach in the early 1900s. Fisher built the first bridge from Miami to Miami Beach and financed the creation of residential islands connected to the bridges, now called causeways. He also built the Miami Yacht Club on the 86-acre Star Island which he later turned into his personal residence. With more than 40 rooms and updated several times since Fisher days, the home includes 10 bedrooms, 12 baths and a two-story spacious formal living room with bay views. Listed in early 2017 at $65 million, the former Fisher mansion will go to auction on January 31st.
