Like many snowbirds, Al Capone escaped the cold Chicago winters in Florida. It was his alibi for the 1929 St. Valentine’s Day Massacre. Al later retired to a Miami Beach mansion after his release from Alcatraz. According to locals, Al also had another Florida home in New Smyrna Beach with a secret tunnel that he used to store liquor and a mistress. Now for sale at $440,000.
