Joseph Durst began in the early 1900s in the dress manufacturing business and later began buying and developing buildings including the Bank of America Tower and the country’s first green skyscraper at Times Square. Joseph’s grandson, Robert Durst, worked in the family business in the 1970s and is now suspected in several gruesome murders.
