Frank Lloyd Wright’s New York Usonian!
Posted: March 16, 2018 | Source: parade.comAfter World War II, Frank Lloyd Wright knew returning soldiers would need affordable homes, so he developed a new concept that people could build mostly by themselves with a minimum of help and expense. He named them Usonian and started a development north of New York City in the hope of meeting the demand for homes for the returning GIs. He called the community Usonia – an acronym for United States of North America. One of Wright’s Usonian homes is now for sale at $1.5 million.
