According to a report from GOBankingRates.com, the best place in the United States for retirees is Timber Pines, Florida. Located about one hour from Tampa and St Petersburg and two hours from Orlando, Timber Pines was established in 1982 to provide ‘Country Club Living for Active Adults.’ According to the town’s website: ‘All of the community’s assets and amenities are fully owned by the residents.’ The #2 place is Green Valley, Arizona followed by Sunset Beach, North Carolina. Criteria include median home prices, cost of living and property taxes.
