Even Governors Have To Reduce Home Prices!
Remember that TV show that opened with a birds eye view over beautiful Providence, RI? It was about a female doctor. We remember the charm of the homes and neighborhoods and everyone being so down to earth and friendly. Here's one of those homes!
Built in the late 1800's, right away you enter into one of those wonderful vestibules designed as a pre-entry to protect from heat loss. So Victorian in architecture, one first notes the beautiful original woodwork and then how nicely the wood floors were laid with the inlaid frame included. Today they never waste the time to do an artful job, but the Victorians had more time to do things right and take pride in their work. This, of course, was before out-of-control capitalism ate the country and quality in every aspect of daily living was paramount. Remember manners? Oh well! Here the rooms are all large so a bedroom can comfortably house more than the customary bedroom furniture and make the room a truly enjoyable place to read or enjoy hobbies. All the bathrooms and the kitchen still retain their original style with lovely updated fixtures, cabinets and countertops. Whether the house was staged or decorated by the owner, many of the rooms are well designed to accent the fabulous architecture.
Whether you love him or hate him, and opinion runs hot, you have to admit that this very charming home speaks for itself! Rhode Island's gov was asking $889k - now down to $799k.
