Zellweger’s Connecticut Home!
Zellweger's Connecticut Home!
Though we usually think of movie star celebrities as being constantly in the public eye with all their moves scrutinized by the paparazzi, we tend to forget that there are a number that we really only hear about during the publicity for a new film. Renee Zellweger is a good case in point. We know her well from her critically acclaimed roles in favorites such as Jerry McGuire, Cold Mountain and others, but her private life has remained somewhat of a mystery. This private retreat speaks volumes about Renee's off-screen personality and the values that make the woman.
Certainly not the taste of Bridget Jones, this 39 acre 1770's farm is not what we expected! On entering the drive, one feels themselves being pulled in by the pastoral setting and thoughts turn to strolling over the meadows to peak inside the barns and outbuildings. It's touching to think of how our forefathers worked hard on this land to support their families with little else than what nature provided, where today, it's just the opposite. Over the 8 years that Renee has owned it, she has renovated it into a place of manicured luxury but through her appreciation of its past history, has preserved much of the original. Fields are well tended, there is a sparkling turquoise pool across the lawn, the big barn has been turned into a recreation building, and the house has retained its original charm. Rooms are now scaled to fit the way we live today with every modern convenience and finish while retaining the warmth and character of days gone by.
As Renee probably said when viewing this farm for the first time, "It got me at 'Hello'." (Just couldn't resist!) For sale at $1.5m.
