To his Connecticut home that is - it finally sells. He's not going back to his TV show either. Even though he was disgruntled with the new contract offered and decided it would be a good time to call it a day, he's 80! Sure, . . work at 80, but why not do it in a way not so physically demanding? Why not travel, take some time to see new places, meet new people, get some fresh ideas? Who knows what inspiration that might hold? He has said he'd like to do a type of family talent show . . something, he says, " . . that I'd like to watch." Strange thing is, since he's been off the show, ratings have gone from 3.5 million viewers to 3.93 million viewers in the weeks since Regis left.
Seems like the sale of his and Joy's Greenwich, CT home came at the same time as his retirement. The home has been on and off the market for the last five years, originally offered at $5.9m. The final sale came in at $3m. It's a beautiful traditional home on a cul-de-sac with lovely landscaping and outdoor living areas. The interior has large airy rooms and is impeccably decorated as one would expect. With almost 6,000sf of living space, the house has 4 bedrooms and 6.5 baths. Even though the couple spends most of their time at their Manhattan home, they did buy another in Greenwich about four years ago.
