Secret Military Lab!
Secret Military Lab!
Don't know about you, but seems to us the Hollywood Hills area, just minutes from Sunset Strip, should be home to celebrities and not to a secret military installation! Of course the government probably felt the same way and thought it to be the last place on earth anyone would think to look for such a thing. But taking that a step further, did you ever think about how photographs of atomic bomb explosions were taken? It's the kind of thing we take for granted until it's pointed out to us. Interestingly enough, there was a secret corp of cameramen who risked their lives photographing these explosions so scientists could study the second-by-second action of the blasts. The films were also used as educational vehicles for government committees appropriating funds to promote the development of these objects of massive destruction. The Lookout Mountain Laboratory, of which we speak, was also the perfect location to work with processing the film since such skilled Hollywood filmmakers were so close by to assist! When operating at full speed, the neighbors were suspicious of the activity going on inside the building with its barbed-wire surround and all-night lights. Once its secret classification years ran out, the house was sold to be renovated into a private residence with a twist.
Certainly not for the traditionalist, this is the home for those brimming over with creativity and imagination who never seem to have enough space to work their magic! Today, this 50,000sf residence houses a gallery art collection and elegant living spaces. It has 8 bedrooms, 12 baths, on 1.4 acres with a picturesque free-form swimming pool with waterfall. There is a theatre and a sound stage with enough parking behind its gated entrance to hold almost any sized gathering.
Elegance, space to soar, marvelous history and perfect location! . . Is there anything else you need? Rather, is there anything else to ask for! Listed at $5,750,000.
