“The Godfather” Baby’s Condo!
"The Godfather" Baby's Condo!
Sofia Coppola's Nolita sun-filled corner loft is for sale after she and her now husband, Thomas Mars (think Phoenix) have purchased a new townhouse on Morton Street. This was the home she bought with former husband, Oscar winning director, Spike Jonze, in 2002. Since her divorce from Jonze, she has been living in Paris until buying the NYC townhouse with Mars.
It must run in their blood! Sofia is the third generation Coppola to win an Oscar; a first in the history of films. Granted she had a little help along the way from dad, but having bottomed out as an actress, she turned to writing and directing where she finally found her niche. We all remember her as the baby in The Godfather baptism scene and as director for Lost in Translation.
On arriving at the condo via the key controlled elevator, one is instantly taken by the views of Manhattan from the huge windows surrounding the great room that are made even more impressive by the high ceilings. A very functional feature not always found in the open loft concept is the split bedroom plan that offers excellent privacy from children or overnight guests. The marble baths are en-suite with the master having twin vanities, a large soaking tub and separate shower. The kitchen has everything for the serious cook, including a wine cooler, making this 1,771sf loft perfect for family as well as entertaining.
Little Italy condo worthy of it's own Oscar, priced at $2.75m.
