Rory vs Tiger Houseoff!
Rory vs Tiger Houseoff!
Must SeeTop 10 Florida Condos For SaleAs golf aficionadosaround the world start counting the days until the Masters Tournament, there is even more excitement this year. To so many, things got a little dull during Tiger Wood’s hiatus from popularity, which was a boon for newly hot-on-the-circuit Rory McIlroy. While the Tiger was away, McIlroy did play and play so well that he is now considered to be Tiger’s main contender.
This year, however, Tiger seems to have healed and come back to himself with a new coach, new swing, new steady girlfriend and apparent new confidence. He has improved so much in fact, he is now at 11-4 odds of winning the Masters over Rory’s 9-1. Even Nike is coming around again and has just given him a new $100 million contract. Granted, they gave Rory a $250 million contract, but chances are, Tiger’s will increase as his game and personal life continue to show stability.
As Steve Stricker put it, "He (Tiger) just seems in a better place mentally. He seems to be having fun. And he seems to have a lot of confidence in himself and his game."
With Rory standing as next in line to take over as top golfer should Tiger slip in his new rise to fame, it’s only fitting that we not only scrutinize their golf game, but also draw a parallel of comparison on other parts of their private lives, . . in our case, their houses!
Naturally like the old saying goes, "birds of a feather stick together", golfers, footballers and NASCAR drivers seem to stick with their own. Top golfers hang around good weather and the best golf courses with their peers for convenience as well as keeping an eye peeled on the competition. Tiger and Rory only live 10 miles from each other on Florida’s Gold Coast and are close to good courses and Jack Nicklaus’ Bears Club.
That’s about where the comparison stops between the homes of the two. According to Jeff Lichtenstein of Jeff Realty, "Rory’s house is modest in comparison to Tiger’s, ½ the size, ½ the amenities, 1/10 the acreage . . ." Both beautiful waterfront homes, they both have the Intracoastal, but Tiger also has the beach. Rory has a putting green while Tiger has his own small golf course. Rory has reasonable monthly home expenses fitting a young millionaire, and Tiger has massive home and employee expenses which must give him a good deal of worry since his expensive divorce, lack of winnings and the loss of the Nike contract.
Even though things are going well lately for both golfers, they must be feeling the heat with the Masters only days away. Tiger is #1 again but Rory will pounce if given the opportunity.
Even though things are going well lately for both golfers, the 2013 Masters did not go so well. Tiger finished in the top 10 at 5-under par but had to take a two-stroke penalty after a misplayed drop, while Rory finished at 5 over par for the tournament.
