An Iowa Surprise!
An Iowa Surprise!
Must SeeTop 10 Florida Condos For SaleThese days Tom and Molly Bedell are very busy with Tom’s guitar factory in Bend, Oregon and in Nashville, where they opened an 8,000-square-foot music store, they call "Two Old Hippies," with a live music venue, guitar sales, jewelry, clothing and boots. This is a couple not easily held down. They’re movers and doers who want to make a difference in all their ventures. Judging by the store’s website and their faithful fans, they’ve become a well-loved part of the Nashville scene.
Sometimes in order to be successful, you have to make adjustments. Having opened their store in 2011 and overseeing the Oregon guitar factory, it became obvious that there was no time to enjoy either their 610-acre Peace Ranch near Aspen or their their fabulous Iowa entertainment home on West Okoboji Lake.
Not just a home but a destination and built for entertaining, the lake house has been host to a huge collection of musicians and friends made over the years. The 24,876-square-foot contemporary glass mansion at the edge of the water is a stunner and has an open plan for every size group from political fundraisers to music concerts. But the real jaw dropper is the full sized Irish pub, Kevin O’Sullivan’s, with bar, stage and such a superb replica that it’s like being transported straight to Dublin. With multiple bars and kitchens, one a catering kitchen, guests will never be far from a cold one and a snack. The main house kitchen, part of the great room, might have more island bar stools than any private home in the country. At this kitchen counter, you can enjoy morning coffee with at least 25 of your closest friends. The mansion has nine bedrooms, sixteen bathrooms, six fireplaces and garage storage for ten cars and plenty of dock space for your boating friends. The caretaker’s cabin is located across the street.
Not your usual Iowa home - an entertainer’s paradise listed at $14.9 million.
