South Florida Surging Beach Town

Posted: August 26, 2023

Pompano Beach was a sleepy beach town between Fort Lauderdale and Boca Raton until a few years ago when a new city administration took over and started to transform it into South Florida’s next great beach town. The person who was largely responsible for transforming Delray from a dump to one of Florida’s most vibrant towns for entertainment, restaurants and the arts was hired to do the same thing in Pompano Beach.

In just a few short years, the city is on a huge upward trend with a new $50 million beach beautification project, a 3-mile beach area with wide beaches, picnic shelters, playground and even professional exercise equipment.

Pompano Beach is famous for its excellent boating and fishing, an offshore living coral reef, a 1,000-foot-long free fishing pier, world-famous Seafood Festival, Music Under the Stars, the Hillsboro Lighthouse, a Goodyear Blimp home base and some of the bluest ocean water on the Atlantic. Coming soon is a block-long beach complex of restaurants and shops (just a few blocks from Sabbia Beach). Pompano Beach already has a number of wonderful restaurants including Houston’s, Fish Shack and Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza. A number of new restaurants and a micro brewery are opening soon. Trip Advisor recently named Pompano Beach as one of the top 10 American cities that are generating the most buzz and positive feedback from visitors.

The best thing is that prices are still affordable for South Florida beach properties. Comparable oceanfront properties in Pompano Beach are about 20% to 60% less than any other beach town in South Florida and a beach that is one of the best in Florida. Pompano Beach is the best of Old Florida and New Florida.
