An English manor home designed by Wilson Eyre Jr. in 1910 for John Andrus, a chemicals tycoon and former congressman and mayor of Yonkers, New York, was designed by Philadelphia architect Wilson Eyre Jr. According to Mark Alan Hewitt, an architectural historian, Eyre might have been the most prominent American residential architect until Frank Lloyd Wright. The seven-bedroom, four-bath, over 5,300-square-foot home was restored and update in 2010 and is for sale at $2.5 million. The listing agents are Nancy Strong and Stacey Oestreich from Douglas Elliman.
