Built in 1928 after the Fisher Body family sold their business to General Motors, the landmark art deco building has fallen on hard times with high vacancy rates and maintenance issues. With its extensive use of limestone, marble, granite and a three-story arcade, it was named the most beautiful building of 1928 by the New York League of Architects.
