Florida Construction Permits Surge

A total of 7,477 new residential construction permits were issued in Florida’s main metropolitan regions in June, a 17% rise from May. In the five Florida regions covered by the research (Tampa, Southwest Florida, Orlando, Jacksonville, and Southeast Florida), permits totaled almost $2.68 billion in planned construction. The average permitted construction value was approximately $357,900.

The permit totals by region for June:

Tampa: 2,300 permits valued at $757.8 million

Southwest Florida: 1,895 permits valued at $712.3 million

Orlando: 1,347 permits valued at $500.3 million

Jacksonville: 1,060 permits valued at $298.6 million

Southeast Florida: 875 permits valued at $407.6 million
