Hamptons Home Sells For $45 Million!

An East Hamptons oceanfront home that was owned by the deceased chairman of Union Pacific, James H. Evans, just sold for $45 million. Evans was involved in a long list of charities and the arts including the Red Cross, President’s Committee on Environmental Quality and the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. According to the listing agency, it is the largest-dollar sale in the Hamptons since 2016. The listing was held by Paul Brennan and Martha Gundersen of Douglas Elliman, and Valerie Smith and Frank Newbold of Sotheby’s.
