At one time, Howard Johnson was one of the largest hotel brands in the world and the largest restaurant chain in the United States – world famous for their 28 flavors of ice cream. The New York apartment of Howard Deering Johnson, who founded the brand in the 1920s and kept at least 10 flavors of his favorite ice creams in his apartment, is for sale at $6.5 million. The three-bedroom co-op is located on Fifth Avenue with big Central Park views. Johnson died in 1972. The listing agent is Iman Bacodari Barkhordari, of Douglas Elliman.
