‘Home Alone’ Movie Mansion For Sale

The Winnetka, Illinois home seen as Kevin McAllister’s family home in the movie Home Alone is for sale at $5.25 million. The suburban Chicago home, which was built in 1921 with over 9,100 square feet, five bedrooms, and six baths, has been updated since the 1990 movie was made but still retains the classic American traditional style but with new additions, including a movie theater, a sunroom, and a sports court in the basement.

The classic holiday movie depicts 8-year-old Kevin McAllister, played by Macaulay Culkin, who is accidentally left behind when the large family flys to Paris for a Christmas vacation. Kevin has to deal with the typical fears of a young child plus two haphazard cat burglars who have targeted his home. The blockbuster movie grossed almost $500 million in box office sales.
