Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert defected from Cuba in 2016 and is well on his way to a long MLB career, named to the All-Star Futures game in 2019 and a recent six-year $50 million contract with the Sox. Luis just spent some of his contract on the $12.3 million Monarch Estate in South Florida. It is named the “Monarch Estate” for the property’s flowering plants that attract Monarch butterflies. It is the highest price ever paid for a home in the Weston area. Senada Adzem of Douglas Elliman had the listing.
