According to US Census records, since July 2020, about the start of covid, through July 2022, New York City lost about 5.3% of its population, over 486,200 people. Much of the loss went to Florida, which gained over 655,000 people between 2020 and 2022. The most popular area for Big Apple movers has been Palm Beach. Sales of Palm Beach condos and homes skyrocketed during the covid years.
