Posted: April 2, 2025 | Source: www.compass.comLA’s Russell House was constructed in 1952 by Southern California builders Norwood & DeLonge. Carefully updated, the home retains its original architectural details on the home’s three levels. There are two main living levels and a lower guest apartment with a separate entrance. One of the highlights of the home are the views via a wall of windows and glass sliders opening to a deck that runs the length of the building. The views include the city, ocean and the Griffin Observatory. Russell House is listed at $2.595 million with Geoff Clark at Compass.
The Russell House builders, Jack DeLonge and Jack Norwood, did some of Southern California’s most interesting homes. In 1957, they built the Research House in La Cañada, which was in the then-boondocks of Southern California, to demonstrate the latest innovations in home technology, architecture and building. The demo house drew approximately 250,000 people, which was about 13 times the town’s population.
