This sale tells us something! We looked at Brad's Malibu beach home when it came on the market last August and mulled it over. We thought it was a nice house, but now realize that it may be even nicer than we previously thought. Why? Because Ellen just bought it. By now, most everyone in-the-know in real estate also knows that among Ellen's many talents is the ability to pick a great real estate deal! That makes us want to take another look. Since her partner, Portia, loves horses, they've been living at their ranch recently after putting their other large property up for sale. Owning this beach home now gives them the best of both worlds. After all, Brad and Jolie spend most of their time at Chateau Miraval with their own 35 bedroom castle in the middle of 880 acres in the South of France. With that, who needs a little Malibu beach house!

The other good news is that a moving truck was seen moving out Brad's mid-century furnishings! Granted, Brad did improve the structure by opening up the walls and adding lots of glass to capitalize on the sweeping ocean views, but even though we know better, we kept getting stuck on the droll furnishings and dismal paint colors. In no time, Ellen will have it white, bright, sunny and plush. Bet she'll even put in a stone terrace in front of the outdoor fireplace!

Previously listed for $13.375m., Ellen DeGeneres just closed on Brad Pitt's Malibu home for $12m.
