Dairy Farm Now a Home!
Dairy Farm Now a Home!
We think barns make the best homes. But this isn't just any barn, it's a Pennsylvania stone barn! We've never seen such massive beams, and what they've done to the interior is breathtaking and oozes character at every turn. Even the well-fitted walk-in closets have a sliding stall door!
Built in 1921 and originally part of the historic Riverview Farm, the barn was already a unique landmark before someone with vision turned it into this magnificent home. Within its 6,642sf are 5BR, 4 BA, library, office and a well-equipped modern kitchen. The huge living and dining rooms, as well as every room of the house, were all designed in keeping with the historical ambiance of the original structure. The master suite is fabulous with its sitting room, gas fireplace and custom bath, and the aforementioned huge walk-in closet. The attached former milk house expands into additional bedroom and living space.
Riverview Farm, originally owned by the Garrett Family, was connected with the Underground Railroad during the Civil War. This farm, formerly consisting of about 284 acres, in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania, was one of the properties of the ardently anti-slavery family until they moved to Delaware in 1822.
Tangible Civil War history now reduced to $975k.
