A work of art from every direction, from every view, this must be one of his best! The house was designed in 1955 while Mr. Wright was working on the Guggenheim Museum, and was built in 1961 after being commissioned by Randall and Harriet Fawcett. Positioned on 80 acres in the great Central Valley of California, the design is timeless. Though accurately described as Mid-Century Modern, with its clean, sweeping lines blending into an equally simple, elegant landscape, it seems as though the house and land are one. This is a house where Mr. Wright also designed the pool for the house that was actually installed. We see many where the owner never completed that part, and here we have both the pool and a koi pond. A feeling of serenity prevails in the architectural lines, materials and Japanese rock arrangements and the interior walk-in fireplace and surround is pure, jaw-dropping art. Having also designed the furniture, his precision shows through in every element.
