The 232-acre polo estate that was the longtime home of Queen Elizabeth II’s grandparents, Woolmers Park, is for sale. It is where both Queen Elizabeth and Princess Margaret spent many childhood days and where the Queen first acquired her love of horses.

Within the fenced estate are the Georgian country house, eight cottages, polo and equestrian facilities, woodlands for game hunting and fishing in the River Lea. The total amount of living space is 70,000 square feet. Located 22 miles outside of London, the main house has five reception rooms for entertaining, private family rooms, a large kitchen with morning room, eight bedrooms and eight baths with five ensuite. There is also an attached two bedroom staff apartment. A valued and unusual feature of the estate is that there are no public rights of way through any of the 232 acres, affording the owner maximum privacy. In 1949, another former owner established the Hertfordshire Polo Club where Prince Charles played while attending Cambridge. It is open year-round with indoor and outdoor fields for matches and instruction in the sport. Currently priced at £30 million or approximately $43 million USD.
