It’s a house so famous that it once appeared on the front page of a Russian newspaper in an article entitled, "Only in America." Dennis Morin hasn’t been the only software magnate to go a little bonkers when they finally earn the money to have whatever house they want, but he might have been the most innovative.

Directly on the Laguna beachfront where Aliso Creek flows into the Pacific, Morin split apart a massive boulder at the edge of the creek, excavated for the house, reinforced the concrete roof and had the rock, soil and plants put back to cover the house. Materials used in the house follow the water color theme with ocean blues and turquoise, natural stone and terrazzo with glimmering abalone shell inserts. The exterior terraces on the ocean side are also built with natural rock from the boulder and have a stone spa and fire pit only steps from the sand and ocean.
