Although the families of best buds Matt Damon and Ben Affleck have enjoyed the camaraderie of living on the same street in Pacific Palisades in Los Angeles since Matt and family moved from Miami Beach in 2012, Ben and soon-to-be, ex-wife Jennifer Garner recently put their home on the market. And now Matt’s LA home is quietly for sale in a pocket listing. Which may explain why Damon was recently reported by the New York Post to be house shopping in Brooklyn.

One sure sign that the Damons are serious about moving to Brooklyn is their attempt to enroll their three daughters in the exclusive St. Ann’s school. Unfortunately the school is currently full and their application was turned down for this term, but that hasn’t stopped the house hunting. The home that has most recently attracted their attention is a 17,000-square-foot mansion built in 1857 with 15 bedrooms and 16 baths. Most recently purchased by its current owner in 1991 for $2.3 million, it is the most expensive house in Brooklyn, priced at $40 million. At present, the seller has the mansion divided into eight apartment units, but it can be restored to reflect the full glamour of its single-family past.

Brooklyn, New York’s most expensive mansion has tweaked the interest of the Matt Damon family who are said to be house hunting once again on the East Coast. Priced at $40 million.
