Nevada Home of the Year!
Must SeeTop 10 Florida Condos For SaleWhen art gallery owners have a house designed to their personal taste, the architecture usually turns out to be notable. But when the owners of the Stremmel Gallery in Reno, Nevada engaged Mark Mack of Batey & Mack architectural firm out of Venice, California to design their contemporary home, little did they know that it would end up being one of the most photographed and honored architectural masterpieces in the country. The design components of color drawn from the desert and sky, clean lines that enhance the landscape, multiple sources of natural light in the interior and wall space to display the owner’s personal art collection, morphed into admirable balance. Taking a year to design and 18 months to build, the Stremmel House was the couple’s home from 1995 to the present. After completion, it became Architectural Record’s "House of the Year," and chosen by Architectural Digest as one of the top 10 buildings in the world.
