Obama’s Hawaii Vacation Home!
Obama's Hawaii Vacation Home!
Must SeeTop 10 Florida Condos For SaleAfter a tough election, and another year of battling Republicans, a recovering economy, unemployment, right-wing media, and now the fiscal cliff and a likely battle over gun rights, the President certainly deserves a break. And what could beat his home state of Hawaii for a vacation? TopTenRealEstateDeals.com has an exclusive look at Paradise Point where President Obama, Michelle and children have spent their Christmas vacations from 2008 through 2012. From 2008 to 2010 they stayed at the Plantation Estate and for the last two years have also stayed at a luxury Paradise Point home a few houses from their previous rental.
These open-air style estate homes on a dead end road with few other homes include the 6,000 square foot main home with 5 bedrooms and 6 baths, lagoon-style pool, several waterfalls and lanais, native Hawaiian plants and coconut trees, and an outside wet bar - all behind a seven foot lava wall. Inside the master home are five bedrooms and baths, gourmet kitchen, a 60-inch flat-screen TV, stained glass windows and lots of mahogany. Paradise Point is a perfect location for the most elegant, tropical homes on Oahu with views to Kailua Beach and the Mokulua Islands.
The $24,500 per week Plantation Estate was not available for the Obama's 2011 Christmas vacation, so the First Family stayed in a similar home just a few hundred yards away. Both homes feature spectacular Pacific Ocean views and are steps to one of Hawaii’s best beaches. There is also a U.S. Marine Corps base nearby where President Obama likes to work out and where he plays golf at the Kaneohe Klipper Golf Course, an 18-hole championship golf course.
According to the estate's website, "the home is built for exceptional security, comfort and elegance just steps from the silky white sands of Kailua Beach, recognized as the number one presidential vacation destination and one of the best beaches in the world."
The Plantation Estate last sold at a bargain price in July 2010 for $6.9 million, after previously selling in January 2008 for $9 million.
Though President Obama only had a few days to spend with his family before returning to Washington on December 26th, Mrs. Obama and the girls are staying in Hawaii in the event of the President’s possible return around January 1st.
