Playboy Mansion Sale Is Final!
Must SeeTop 10 Florida Condos For SaleThe sale went through - the fairytale is over. After a few cliff hanging moments on whether or not the sale would come to fruition, we can now say farewell to the image that rocked the nation for decades. Most of today’s women, though probably not the men, would be stunned that some women of the previous generation would don a skimpy rabbit suit to entice men sexually while serving them drinks and other possible amenities. The Playboy mansion was the center of the scene with its wild parties and even wilder grotto stories spread across Playboy magazine and headlined in all the gossip sheets. It was the home of the sexual revolution and lived a long life, just like the man who conceived it, Hugh Hefner.
Hefner, now age 90, will continue to live there for the rest of his life, paying $1 million a year for rent and services but without the responsibility of the upkeep. The new owner, Twinkie heir Daren Metropoulos, eventually intends to join this property with his next door as was the original intention of architect Arthur Kelly when he designed it in 1927. This sale, at $100 million, is the highest sales price in Los Angeles history. Gary Gold and Drew Fenton of Hilton & Hyland, and Mauricio Umansky of the Agency were the listing agents.
