Ryan O’Neal and Jacqueline Bisset were the stars of the 1973 hit movie, "The Thief Who Came To Dinner" about a Texas computer programmer and Houston socialite who team up as glamorous jewel thieves. Much of the movie was filmed at this equally glamorous and dazzling Houston mansion.

Within three years, his company became a leading license holder offshore of eight African countries. In 1999, the Houston Geological Society named Gene Van Dyke a "Living Legend in Wildcatting."
