"The Christmas Story" House!
Must SeeTop 10 Florida Condos For SaleThough definitely not for sale, but for those who wish it were Christmas every day, The Christmas Story House makes it Christmas 365 days a year in Cleveland. Yes, there are people who love the magic of Christmas so much that huge decoration warehouses devoted solely to Christmas are dappled around the country in all the major cities. So after you've bought another backyard storage building and filled it to the rafters with decorations and are frustrated that there's no place to put more, how about a little road trip to Cleveland's Tremont neighborhood and experience your favorite holiday whenever your heart desires.
We know that Christmas fanatics have memorized the lines to every Christmas movie from TV's "Peanuts" to "A Christmas Carol," but "The Christmas Story" house, along with its museum and gift shop is a movie you can actually touch. Now isn't that head and shoulders above just watching the movie in your media room?
It all started when Ralphie first glimpsed the Red Ryder BB Gun at Higbee's department store downtown. He knew it was the only thing he would ever want that Christmas. In fact, if he could only have it, there would never be a need for Christmas in his life again. But faced with adult wisdom at every turn - "You'll put somebody's eye out!" - it was the present he may have to wait for until reaching the ancient age of 18 when others would no longer have much say. But miracle of all miracles, the old man came through and all Ralphie's prayers came true. Of course, since all children's' stories must have a moral, Ralphie's long awaited first shot ricocheted off a piece of metal and almost put his own eye out. Fitting! So who could resist a Christmastime visit to the set of "The Christmas Story" and re-live all those wonderful scenes? When you go, don't forget that you can buy the leg lamp as a souvenir to grace your own home. Or if a little stressed for travel cash, you could just stay home and tune in to Netflix, where there must be at least one Christmas movie available for each day of the year!
