Dick Cavett’s Central Park Apartment!
Posted: March 1, 2018 | Source: www.6sqft.comIt was a long winding road for the thinking man talk show host to
achieve stardom in his own late night show, The Dick Cavett Show. Though
he was third behind Johnny Carson and Merv Griffith in viewership, he
gained rave reviews for engaging his guests in deep conversation and had a
talent for drawing them out. Along the way to his talk show success,
Cavett had been a writer for many greats such as Groucho Marx and also
wrote for Johnny Carson while working as talent coordinator for The
Tonight Show. Now at 81 and still professionally active, the talk show
host-comedian career had spanned a half a century by the year 2000.
Cavett is selling his Central Park co-op in the Kenilworth that he has
owned since 2009. Oozing Old World charm, it is filled with pre-war
details such as decorative fireplaces, original quarter-sawn flame oak
paneling in the dining room, custom built-ins and carved moldings,
original doors and leaded glass windows. Bedrooms are in one wing with a
large and glamorous master suite and the kitchen is 21st century but with
character black and white square tile floors.
