Hampton’s Home Between Art and Architecture!
Hampton's Home Between Art and Architecture!
When Arakawa Sh√Ö¬´saku, a Japanese writer and architect and Madeline Gins, an artist and writer met in 1963, it was the beginning of a 40 year relationship both personal and in creative collaboration such as founding the Architectural Body Research Foundation. Together and separately they wrote many books explaining their theory and practice of reversing our propensity to eventually die by becoming too comfortable, therefore, their architectural style creates, . . how do we say this . . living confusion. Their Bioscleave House is a one of a kind architectural marvel that offers adventurous house hunters the experience of living in the very middle of a sculpture, and more importantly, one that is the team's only U.S. example. If you have the kind of cocktail parties where guests slowly straggle in, then this house is for you. Your parties will become the talk of the town and people will break speed limits getting to this house! But a word of warning, don't take Arakawa's theory too seriously . . . he died in 2010 at the age of 73!
