This is the home that Gerald and Betty Ford built after he lost the 1976 presidential election to Jimmy Carter, which they owned over three decades. Overlooking the Thunderbird Country Club golf course in Rancho Mirage, California, Betty and the President lived here for 33 years. The Secret Service was stationed in the house adjacent and President Ford used that house, formerly belonging to Ginger Roger, as his official office when he and Betty were in residence.
