Obama's Cape Cod Vacation Rental!
Must SeeTop 10 Florida Condos For SaleWhen you grow up in Hawaii, or at the edge of any ocean, it gets in your blood and stays with you for your lifetime. The sound of the ocean lapping against the sand or crashing against rock puts you to sleep at night and fills you with the excitement of adventure in the morning when you can’t wait to get on the beach to see what treasures it has deposited there overnight. We secretly believe that’s why Barack Obama and his family feel the need to vacation by the ocean. No longer a child, the excitement of mornings at the beach develops into an appreciation for the view to a clear horizon that clarifies and relaxes the mind while the nighttime sounds of the water still induce deep sleep. Other presidents have gone skiing in the mountains or hunting game birds for relaxation - but they didn’t grow up at the edge of the ocean, did they?
We’ve seen three of the Obama’s oceanside vacation retreats; at Kailua beach on Oahu in Hawaii, in West Tisbury and now at Martha’s Vineyard. The West Tisbury estate sold last year for $22 million and now this Vineyard home is also up for sale for $3.3 million but is on a beach front lot rather than the 28 acres included in the estate.
This Oak Bluffs house is in a fun spot on the island with the beach steps away and a walk to shops and the harbor with all the boating activity. The ferry is just on the other side of the harbor and the boating channel passes through Nantucket Sound in front of the house. It is said by the locals that the Obamas went many times to Nancy’s Restaurant on the harbor to pick up take-out so they could go home and eat on the deck while watching the boats go by. The 4,000 square foot ranch-style house is smaller than most they have rented, but it has 7 bedrooms and 5.5 baths with deck and lawn that goes to the water’s edge. The new owner will also have the potential for adding a boat dock if they choose.
President Obama’s Martha’s Vineyard beach house rental now for sale. Priced at $3.3 million.
